On August 26, the new energy and new material wind power special production and demand matchmaking meeting in Binhai New Area was successfully held in Tianjin Economic-technological Development Area (abbreviated as TEDA). This event organized upstream and downstream enterprises in the wind power field, financial institutions, and related associations to build a supply-demand docking platform to extend the industrial chain, thereby increasing the local supporting rate of the new energy and new materials industry and further developing the market, and promoting the upgrading of the new energy and new materials industry in the new area.

The government acts as a matchmaking bridge to match production and demand to promote development. This event is guided by the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Binhai New Area, hosted by the New Energy and New Material Industry Promotion Bureau of TEDA, and the Enterprise Service Bureau of TEDA to build a matching platform for enterprises to promote the "connection chain" for industrial chain, supply chain, and capital chain. It is reported that after nearly half a month of adequate preparation for this matchmaking meeting, it collected the purchasing needs of buyers to help them find qualified suppliers, and conducted offline matchmaking.
The event attracted 6 major OEMs, i.e., Vestas Wind Technology China Co., Ltd., Dongfang Electric (Tianjin) Wind Power Technology Co., Ltd., Dongfang Electric (Tianjin) Wind Power Blade Engineering Co., Ltd., Tianjin Mingyang Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd., Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Technology ( China) Co., Ltd., and Tianjin Dingqiang Industrial International New Energy Group Co., Ltd., as well as nearly 100 new energy and new materials in the field of parts, materials, and enterprise service providers to communicate on site. The companies present were mainly local companies in the Binhai New Area, covering the entire Tianjin city. At the same time, there were also foreign companies coming to look for opportunities for matching production and demand. It is reported that only from the feedback from the OEM, more than 10 pairs of effective matchmaking have been realized.
Qin Jianxing, an engineer from Vestas supplier quality and development, expressed in an interview with reporters that he hopes to better understand the development of relevant service providers and industrial supporting companies in Tianjin and the entire Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through the matchmaking meeting, covering supply chain and logistics from an equal angle.
In the on-site business negotiation link of the matchmaking meeting, the 6 OEMs set up separate negotiation tables to communicate face-to-face with upstream and downstream enterprises on the spot; in the supplier waiting area, enterprises are fully free to communicate with each other, effectively breaking up the upstream and downstream communication barriers of the enterprise industry chain.
"Industrial production-demand docking is actually a long-term process, especially for automotive and other industries. It usually takes two years to achieve actual results. The government-guided production-demand docking has helped many companies enter the purchaser. The database has successfully taken the first step towards making substantial progress.” Wang Ling, deputy director of the Enterprise Service Bureau of TEDA, said that he hopes to build an enterprise matching and docking platform to help enterprise suppliers and purchasers form an information communication platform and an upstream and downstream docking platform and technology exchange platform, to promote the joint development of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, and reduce various impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
TEDA actively promotes development of the wind power industry.
After years of development, TEDA has formed five pillar industries including the new energy and new materials industry. In 2019, the output value of the new energy and new materials industry in TEDA reached 70.2 billion yuan, and there were 74 "enterprises with four index above designated scale", which gathered a group of well-known new energy and new materials companies such as PPG, Kennametal, Cabot, Vestas, Dongfang Tianjin Blade, and Dongfang Tianjin Wind Power.
From the perspective of the overall development of the wind power industry, TEDA has formed an industrial cluster with complete machine enterprises as the leader, supporting enterprises as the backup, specialized division of labor as the link, and technological innovation and talents as the foundation. All links including materials and coatings to the generator control system inside the wind turbine and the wind turbine cable tower have basically formed the layout of the entire wind power industry chain.
Vestas Wind Technology China Co., Ltd., located in the western part of TEDA, is the world's largest integrated production base for wind power equipment of the Vestas Group. Dongfang Electric (Tianjin) Wind Power Blade Engineering Co., Ltd., which is located in the modern industrial zone of TEDA, also recently rolled off the production line and released China's first set of 10 MW offshore wind power blade products with independent intellectual property rights.
The reporter learned from the New Energy and New Material Industry Promotion Bureau of TEDA that in the next step, on the basis of the development of the wind power industry, TEDA will promote the multi-energy complementarity between the wind power industry and other green energy sources, and promote the organic integration of energy conservation and emission reduction, to truly realize green and sustainable development.
