On August 20, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the Administrative Committee of Tianjin Economic-technological Development Area (abbreviated as TEDA) and the American Chamber of Commerce in China was held at the Investment Service Center of TEDA. The two parties will set up a dedicated service working group to address the development needs of US-funded companies in China’s biomedicine, green petrochemical, electronic information, automotive and other fields, continue to expand the open pattern, improve and upgrade the level of industrial services, and further boost US companies’ investment in China. With the confidence of development, we will jointly create a cluster of high-growth US-funded enterprises.
Enabling American companies to take root and develop with assurance
Zheng Weiming, Secretary of the Party Committee of TEDA and Director of the TEDA Administrative Committee, said that US-funded enterprises were the first to settle here in TEDA, bringing advanced technology to the development of local industries and training a large number of talents. TEDA has established a legalized business environment that is in line with international standards. Through high-quality services and a good environment, US-funded enterprises can take root and develop here with assurance. As the first official government partner of the Chamber of Commerce, TEDA has formed a close cooperative relationship with the Chamber of Commerce, which has greatly improved the visibility and industry influence of the TEDA, and promoted the development of regional investment promotion. I hope to use the American Chamber of Commerce as a communication bridge to study the environmental optimization, upgrade of Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone and supply chain stabilization so as to help US-funded enterprises develop in China.
Xu Yang, vice chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, thanked TEDA for its attention and love to US-funded enterprises. She said that TEDA and the American Chamber of Commerce in China have always cooperated closely and communicated smoothly. The Chamber of Commerce actively promotes TEDA's regional publicity and expansion of investment channels. TEDA has always been a golden sign in the eyes of foreign-funded enterprises. The active increase in capital and production by foreign-funded enterprises fully shows that they are very optimistic about the Chinese market and TEDA. The member companies of the Chamber of Commerce represented by PPG, Coca-Cola, Honeywell, Cabot, Butler, Gobb Lifting Equipment, and Boai Extruded Core Materials have flourished in Tianjin, providing a good example for the development of American companies in China.
Providing a broader development space
It is reported that the American Chamber of Commerce in China was established in 1991 and is committed to building a bridge of trust between the Chinese government and American companies. It currently has more than 900 corporate members and more than 4,000 individual members, as well as more than 30 professional working groups, which has held more than 150 events annually on average.
On the basis of inheriting historical cooperation, TEDA Administrative Committee and the American Chamber of Commerce in China have decided to sign a new round of cooperation agreements to further boost the confidence of American companies in investing and developing in China. The upgraded cooperation between the two parties will be for American companies. It will provide broader development space and better investment return in TEDA. Representatives from Chayora Holdings, PPG, Boai Expanded Core Materials, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Butler, General Motors and other companies attended the event.
