In April of this year, a building called "Zero Energy Conservation Cabin" was completed in the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city (the Eco-city for short), becoming the first zero energy consumption building in Tianjin. During the Fourth World Intelligence Conference, this zero-energy house will also be unveiled as an experience project. It is claimed that since the two months of operation, the total power generation of the zero-energy house has reached 3800 kWh while the total electricity consumption is 1900 kWh – the production capacity is about twice the energy consumption.
It is claimed that the zero-energy cabins make full use of the roof space and lay 20 kilowatts of photovoltaic panels. After a period of recent operation and testing, in the case of sunny days, they can generate more than 80 degrees of electricity per day, which is greater than the energy demand of about 20 degrees by the building itself. Excess electrical energy can be stored in energy storage batteries to power the electrical equipment in the building at night and in low light conditions.
Through the home energy router, the zero-energy house realizes comprehensive energy control. When the power is surplus, it can start to adjust the water heater and washing machine at the right time, effectively configure the electric energy, and automatically complete the scheduled housework. The zero-energy house adopts the energy-saving technology and materials of "passive house" to block the internal and external heat exchange, so that the building energy consumption level is reduced by more than 85% compared with the national standard.
