On May 21, the first special train containing 100 20-foot 35-ton non-ferrous metal ores was sent from the China Railway Tianjin Container Center Station in the Tianjin Port Dongjiang Area of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone (TFTZ for short) and headed for the Miaoliang Station in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, which marked the official start of the "New Port North - Miaoliang" railway transportation project. At this point, the railway port joined hands to once again penetrate a west-inland hinterland green channel of hot metal transportation, forming a new pattern of opening up the outward and smooth inward, and promoting the high-quality development of the port with a large cycle.
Zhang Jinchao, general manager of Tianjin China Railway United International Container Co., Ltd., said that Tianjin Port is the largest non-ferrous metal ore transportation port in China. This time, the railway cooperated deeply with the terminal companies of Tianjin Port to realize the sharing of station resources, cargo sources and information. Through cooperation, it will reduce the turnover of goods at the terminal and significantly reduce logistics costs. At the same time, the railway implements preferential policies such as lower freight rates, reduction and exemption of miscellaneous fees at the origin, and lower freight rates for goods in the direction of Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia.
